Boxer Rebellion

This cartoon is about the Open Door Policy and what started the Boxer Rebellion. These different countries are all taking different pieces of China. The cartoonist is trying to say that the U.S. opened China's trade routes to everybody, and now countries are trying to take different parts of China. Other people could think that the Open Door Policy was a good thing to the U.S., and it was. It helped us obtain access to more markets and raw materials, but it was also a bad thing because other countries tried to take advantage of China, making this a bad thing. Symbolism is use a bit in this cartoon, the other countries taking over China are people that have scissors and are cutting out their parts of China. This is a very bad thing, some countries cant just come in to another and just start claiming land for themselves, it's a bad thing and should not be done. It is morally wrong to do what is being done in this cartoon.
